Red Flavored Records

From DJ'ing to producing, Aaron and Johnny realized that their sounds, although different, meshed well together. This carried over to the studio, as well. The tracks they started putting down had a definite house feel to them, but it was difficult to classify the sounds.
During the Winter Music Conference of 2004, after 12 hours of drinking, Aaron and Johnny began to discuss putting tracks out to get pressed. They were both approached by a couple labels to release their original works. However, Johnny and Aaron had a different plan. When they started to run through the list of record labels, they realized their tracks did not quite seem to conform to a specific sound associated with a house label. So, they jokingly discussed starting their own label to focus on funky house music and experimental dance music.Sure enough, nearly a year to the date, Red Flavored Records, co-owned by Johnny Fingers and Aaron Schumm has become a reality. If you asked them what they are trying to do with RFR, they will tell you that they hope to push the boundaries of house a bit. House music is ever-evolving, so why not try to progress the evolution a bit. Johnny and Aaron also are hoping to expose some of the phenomenal, undiscovered talent in New York City and Chicago. There is so much untapped talent floating around. Aaron and Johnny hope to put a few tracks on the table that you may have never heard otherwise. Please check www.redflavored.com/wmc and www.mixin.com to get details on all events and releases.
