Last week, we featured a short clip of what we called “The Happiest DJ You’ll See Today.” Well, after receiving his fair share of internet buzz and love, the Happiest DJ finally speaks! They call him DJ der Guten Laune, or “DJ in Good Spirits,” and although the above interview is in German, some helpful Youtube commenter was nice enough to post a rough translation. Wondering what the DJ in Good Spirits has to say about his dancing skills and fanatical love of the beat? Read on below:
So if I make? a commitment somewhere, I drink in the early evening a glass of wine or beer or maybe two, but thats it. And then I’m clear, I am sober and then…pffff…I call this “Self Doped”. The Situtaion and the music is my drug. So after a time I got that title and that’s so totally moving. I am simply uaaah….laughs. It’s simply going on, since I am aware in the world that it is music that repeatedly touches me madly. I need music in almost any situation whether that is now here, on the road or in the bathroom, I need music everywhere. You can dance on minimal space. I saw that in a little Bhagi (Bhagwan Disco–ed) there was a woman that didnt move her feets. I’ve copied that. Only the body has moved. So I guess you could do it with the little finger, with eyes or dance with the ears alone. And you can get that across, and my evenings are so I am moving wild and then I am not moving at all and I am just happy. Whether I am by myself or sorting or making, it is supposed to be authentic! Laughs…yes…that has something.
That has something indeed. There you have it! Like we said, the translation is a bit rough, but there’s no denying that is a man who knows how to appreciate a good beat. Plus, “Self Dope” might be a new motto here at dancetracks.
